Orthodontic treatment can be considered in children as young as 7 years old. We are not suggesting they wear braces as soon as they are 7, but it is highly recommended to take your child for a consultation to an orthodontist. In some cases, a child may need a palatal expander. A palatal expander gently expands the roof of the mouth and the upper jaw.
